Description:

Heading north on the 14 or Aerospace Highway, exit at Rosamond avenue, turn right and head east about 15 miles and you will be at the location of the former Happy Bottom Riding Club.  This was the establishment of Pancho Barnes, retired female aeronaut extraordinaire and granddaughter of Thaddeus Lowe, builder of the Mt. Lowe Incline and one of the first and most successful civil war reconnaissance balloonists.
